 swadesh list란 비교언어학에서 잘 보존되어 있다고 여겨지는 어휘에 대한 목록입니다. 이 목록에 포함되는 어휘는 연구자에 따라 오락가락할 수 있으며, 비록 같은 어족이라 하더라도 모든 어휘가 보존되어 있는 것은 아닙니다만 이미 연구가 잘 되어 있는 인도유럽어족 등등에서 잘 쓰이는 목록입니다.
